Location: The North Park Bike Trail is located on the North Shore at Moraine State Park. There are several access points along the trail which is 7 miles in length. Our favorite access point for birding is at Lakeview Beach which is located at 40.96559 N, 80,10412 W. These coordinates will take you to the sign pictured. During warmer months, you can follow the road back to the parking area and beach. During colder months, this road is gated off. There is a smaller parking area along the street which can be seen in the photo gallery. The bike trail has benches and there are a couple of water fountains along the way which are not available during cold months.
Facilities: There are restrooms by the beach parking area but they are only available during warmer months.
Likely Birds: The bike trail is a great location for both forest birds and water birds. The following birds have been spotted from the beach area and the trail: American Coot, Common Tern, Grebe species, Loon species, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Lincoln Sparrow.
